OluxHair Wig Maintenance

OluxHair Wig Maintenance

  • In order to preserve the shape and avoid frizz, store your wig in the satin lined box it arrived in, on a wig stand, or on a mannequin head.

  • Generally, lighter hair colors are more delicate and prone to drying than darker hair colors due to the additional processing they undergo. When washing and storing your blondes and semi-blondes be extra careful

  • Direct heat should not be applied to the lace as it will damage the material and cause it to shed

  • Ensure that your wig retains its color and texture by avoiding contact with chlorinated water, seawater, and hot water on a regular basis.  In the event that you do, immediately wash and condition your wigs.

How to Wash your Oluxhair Glueless Wigs?

Our Instagram page (Care Tips) includes a video highlight to provide a more visual representation:

 Step 1: Pre-wash

  • Start by using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently comb through any tangles. Ideally, you should begin at the bottom and work your way up.

Step 2: Rinse

  • The next step is to wet your lace wig.

  • It is important to treat the lace with gentleness.

  • Using cool to lukewarm water, submerge your wig completely under the tap.

  • As soon as you have rinsed, gently remove the excess water with your hands and prepare to shampoo

    Step 3: Shampoo

  • When shampooing your hair, apply a small amount of shampoo to your hands and stroke it from roots to ends. Be gentle when washing your hair

  • Run cool water down the hair from the base to the ends to remove shampoo.

  • After removing the shampoo and ensuring that the water runs clear, gently blot the hair with a towel before applying conditioner.

    Step 4: Condition

  • Now you’re ready to condition. You will need a conditioner designed for wigs (I have one listed on Instagram Highlight).

  • Apply a small amount to the wig, beginning at the bottom. Keep the conditioner away from the base of the wig by gently combing through the strands with your fingers or a wide tooth comb.

  • The majority of conditioners can be left on for up to 10 minutes, however, be sure to follow the directions on the bottle.

  • Once the time is up, run cold water from the top of the wig down to the ends of the strands, blotting the wig dry and hanging it to air dry.

  • You may begin styling your wigs after they have dried.
